Due heavy snow and ice, the warehouse’s roof collapsed damaging a wide variety of baking products valued at several million dollars.  The baking products showed noticeable signs of damage as a result of debris, exposure to water and freezing temperatures.  Due to the exposure, the Health Department condemned the baking products for human consumption and we were able to get clearance to sell in the animal feed market.   Nardone & Company, Inc. was assigned with the task of inventory and disposal.  The inventory supplied by the insured was inaccurate, so we were unable to conduct verification.  Without missing a step, Nardone & Company, Inc. relied on ingenuity and computer expertise to resolve the situation.  In order to provide an accurate inventory, Nardone & Company, Inc. developed a database within our laptops to mirror that of the insured’s.  The database allowed us to scan or key in the product codes as they were being stacked onto pallets to build an inventory and verify the RCV values.  To avoid the typical logistical trucking and weight restrictions, we took the process a step further by utilizing an electric scale to weigh each pallet, so the trucks could be loaded to capacity.
